ABOUT ME

Life & Relationship Coach at FilomenaDBcoach

As a counselor and trained life coach, I assist clients in navigating the coaching process by focusing on specific projects. This involves assessing their current situation, identifying obstacles, removing barriers to reaching their full potential, and establishing a suitable path to become bigger and better.

My Coaching Philosophy

As your coach, I am here to be your partner, an ally who brings what is relevant and honest to you. I empower you to connect with your inner strength, uncover your answers, push you out of your comfort zone, and embrace the choices that lead to lasting and positive changes.

Each of us has the wisdom and power within us to create the life we truly want. Sometimes, all it takes is a shift in perspective, a new mindset, or a fresh approach to unlock the best version of ourselves. Every decision impacts our work, relationships, and spirituality and affects our capacity to find joy. That is why I coach the person, guiding them toward a balanced and fulfilling life, a life that they deserve.

MY STORY

I have had many adventures, but building a new life in the United States was the most transformative. Originally from Brazil, where I speak Portuguese, I was a city girl who never imagined leaving São Paulo, the city I loved. But when my husband received a relocation offer, I embraced the unknown and moved to a small town in Michigan, USA.

During this big transition, I put my career managing large customer service operations on hold, and focused on improving my English and adapting to my new surroundings. Eventually, we became US Citizens and while I was content, I felt a strong desire to return to the workforce and explore a second career. With my background in social communications, I knew I wanted to do something that allowed me to help others.

After much reflection, I decided to return to school and earn my certification in Housekeeping Management, hoping it would lead me to work with people from diverse backgrounds. However before I started, my husband got a promotion that required us to move to Dallas, Texas. Living in a bigger city, I enrolled in a master’s program in Counseling, earning my Master of Arts in Counseling. I also became certified as an Anger Management Specialist where I gained valuable experience working as a practicum student and volunteering at a church-based Counseling Center. Despite my experience, something was still missing... I wanted to bring more energy and creativity to my work. During that time, my supervisor encouraged me to explore life coaching, planting the seed to shape my future. I pursued additional training with the Institute for Life Coach Training (ILCT), focusing on the Coach Approach and Relationship Coaching certification.

Since then, I have dedicated myself entirely to being a life coach, using my knowledge and experience to help others invest in their future. Nothing brings me more joy than helping someone see that their possibilities are limitless, just like mine have been. Everyone can benefit from adjusting their mindset to create a life they truly love.

I am retired under the Brazilian system and live in Seattle with my husband and dog. Our only daughter works in the film industry and lives with her husband and cats in Vancouver, BC.

Every challenge on this journey has fuelled my passion for helping others, and I am grateful to continue answering my calling at this stage!
